Rosary on the Coast includes Poland!
Several groups from throughout the Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle participated in the Rosary on the Coast event on Sunday 29th April. Perhaps the most unusual venue where one of these groups prayed was at the Jasna Góra Monastery in Czętochowa, Poland.
A group of 30 parishioners from St. Mary’s, Hexham, St. Robert’s, Morpeth, St. Cuthbert & St. Joseph, North Shields and Our Lady Queen of Peace, Penshaw, led by Rev. Fr. Peter Stott and Rev. Fr. Christopher Warren travelled to Poland on pilgrimage, to follow in the footsteps of Pope Saint John Paul II. Everyone was extremely keen to join with other Catholics throughout the United Kingdom and participate in the great Rosary on the Coast event, so prior to the pilgrimage Fr. Warren registered the group and at 3pm UK time (4pm local time) on 29th April we were united in prayer with all of the other UK Rosary on the Coast groups. We braved temperatures of 28oC and brilliant sunshine to participate, but nevertheless everyone found it an uplifting and inspirational experience.
