Part of the Heavenfield Partnership of Parishes

Saint Mary's Parish is a large, lively and welcoming community serving a wide geographic area in and around Hexham in Northumberland, England. It is part of the Northumberland Vicariate which stretches from Berwick in the north to Hexham and Haltwhistle in the south and west. More locally, St. Mary's is part of the Heavenfield Partnership of Catholic Parishes, together with St. Wilfrid's at Haltwhistle, St. John of Beverley at Haydon Bridge, St. Peter's at Otterburn, St. Oswald's at Bellingham and St. Elizabeth's at Minsteracres. Our wider Roman Catholic family is the Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle.

Our Parish Priest, Fr. Jeffrey Dodds, has been with us since 2021, and is assisted by our Assistant Priests, Fr. James Dunne and Fr. Paul Kilduff.

We hope that this website will bring together all who attend our church and be of help to the many visitors we warmly welcome to the parish.
